Established in 1985 as Healy Chemicals Ltd, the company immediately gained a strong foothold in the Irish chemical distribution market, and continued to grow to become an established and respected name in the Irish market. It became the first in the industry to achieve ISO 9002 standards in 1992.
In 1994 with business growing at an outstanding rate, Healy Chemicals Ltd felt it was time to diversify, and so decided to broaden its horizons by entering the UK market. The first offices were located at Grange Farm Business Park, Hugglescote, Leicestershire and it was from this location that the company began to increase its profile in the UK markets. 1994 was a very busy year, as the offices in Dublin were also relocated to a larger warehouse and office facility in the south of the city.
In 1997, Healy Chemicals Ltd. diversified again, this time into a completely new market – food ingredients. With this new plan came the creation of Healy Food Ingredients as a subsidiary in both Ireland and the UK. Just one year later in 1998, the company negotiated a prestigious contract with Amylum UK to undertake national distribution of food ingredients. Four years on, the Healy Group represents many world-class names in food ingredient manufacturing, amongst others, Emsland Staerke, Palsgaard and EPI Ingredients.
The new millennium brought a new name to the company, uniting the subsidiaries of Healy Chemicals Ltd and Healy Food Ingredients in the UK and Ireland under the title of The Healy Group. This rebranding also saw the introduction of our current "H" logo, which you will see on all our communications, and which brings together the image of the company under one simple, easily recognisable symbol.
In 2001, a multi-million pound investment was made in a brand new warehouse and office complex in Bardon Hill, Leicestershire, incorporating a 50,000 sq ft food grade warehouse and a state of the art research and test kitchen facility. The UK facility is one of a still small number of companies in its category to be awarded the higher level of EFSIS (European Food Safety and Inspection Service) for storage and distribution.
The Healy Group is committed to providing a quality service, an excellent range of products and dedicated technical support to all our customers. The company’s vision for the future is to be regarded as the industry leader in its quality of customer service, its quality of people and its quality of operations.
